An analysis of the geographic variation in cancer incidence and its social determinants

Cancer is one of the leading diseases worldwide. The magnitude of cancer incidence varies by country or geographical area. The research project will focus on the analysis of trends in cancer incidence from a regional perspective. In addition to spatial variation in the trends in cancer incidence, socioeconomic, lifestyle and environmental risk factors of these trends will be investigated. Potential PhD candidate is expected to have a basic knowledge of both geography and epidemiology. The subject of the PhD thesis can be slightly changed after the discussion and agreement with the supervisor.
