Research:
In my dissertation I focus primarily on foreigners in Czech cities – more specifically, on spatial distribution/segregation of foreigners and changes in the social, physical or functional environment of cities associated with their strong presence. However, as a member of the “URRlab” team I participate in a number of other projects on various urban topics (e. g. suburbanization, population mapping, historical data processing and publishing, etc.). My interests also include solid urban structures – topics such as urbanism, the history of architecture or the transformation of public space. Under the research, I like experimenting with innovative methods, which can then also be transferred to teaching (e.g. map applications, story maps, data collection in the field, etc.). Furthermore, I have a positive attitude towards thematic cartography – as an author of content or a cartographer, I participated in a number of map outputs produced within the team (more at atlasobyvatelstva.cz).
